Depending on the frequency range, thermal class, electrical and mechanical requirements, Metalitz can manufacture various types of litz wires and litz cables by using appropriate raw materials for conductor and insulation.
Owing to the diversified range of applications and required uniqueness for every application, standards are specifically referred in context to the raw material used rather than the complete litz wire.
The Litz wires are made with conductors or magnet wires which are individually insulated from each other. As required by the different applications, magnet wires insulated with polyurethane, polyurethane-nylon, solderable polyester, solderable polyester-nylon, polyester/polyamide-imide, and polyimide are used.
The litz wire can also be provided with additional outer insulations which may be servings of polyester, nylon, silk, cotton, or fiberglass. Polyester, aramid/nomex, polyimide/kapton, and PTFE tape wraps or extruded insulation of ETFE, FEP, PFA, Silicone, etc. are also available as outer insulation in case the application demands for voltage breakdown, mechanical or environmental protection.
